Where do you get your fire hose?

Sometimes I get retired hose by contacting a fire department directly and ask if they have retired fire hose available to be picked up. Many departments have procedures as to how exactly retired fire hose is to be disposed of, others don’t. Also, I get hose from public surplus auctions.

When is fire hose deemed surplus or retired?

Hose can be deemed retired when it becomes scorched from a fire and / or fails a pressure test. Why a pressure test, you ask? A length of hose suddenly springs a sudden leak and bursts while being used, can spell catastrophe for the firefighter. *** HOSE THAT HAS BEEN USED IN A HAZMAT SITUATION IS NOT AVAILABLE TO ANYONE. IT IS DISPOSED WITH OTHER MATERIALS AND CHEMICALS USED IN A HAZMAT RESPONSE. The hose I get was generally used in wildland fires, dumpster, and structure fires. It is washed and dried, leaving most of the soot and dirt behind, before sewing into Doghoztoyz.

Prior to January, 2024, Doghoztoyz.com was primarily an e-commerce site. I have chosen to switch the focus, the emphasis, of this site towards introducing the Doghoztoyz product to retailers. While the site doesn’t have the features of an online store, individual pet parents can order Doghoztoyz via e-mail: info@doghoztoyz.com or using the “Contact” link.

How can I order Doghoztoyz from you?

You can either use the “Contact” button or e-mail: info@doghoztoyz. com. Please indicate the product(s) you would like, provide your shipping address, and I will respond with a quote. (Generally, I ship via US Post Office Ground Advantage, unless you need another shipping method.) I then e-mail an invoice, which will have payment links embedded within the invoice. Once I see your payment has processed, I ship.
